Our perfumers are given complete freedom to craft the most unique, complex, luxury perfumes, blending nature and innovation into a unique olfactory poetry echoing the values of artistry and expertise at the core of Yves Saint Laurent Beauty.

Like the couturier choosing the noblest and most beautiful fabrics to create the perfect haute couture piece, our perfumers select rare and precious ingredients with the greatest care and respect for the environment to design exceptional scents.

Natural or man-made, each of our ingredients is rigorously selected both for its beauty, and for your safety. Because today, being ahead of your time – as Yves Saint Laurent always was – goes beyond aesthetics. It is a matter of ethics and sustainable practices.
The Ourika Community Gardens created by YSL BEAUTY, embody the social and environmental commitment of our brand. The botanical collection focuses on conducting experimental research and developing new ingredients. Organic farming practices have been followed for several years, and the gardens began the process of becoming organically certified in 2020. Since 2017, a community of 32 local Berber women was set up to tend the gardens. The aim is to provide the participants with access to entrepreneurial opportunities so that they can become more financially independent.

In Morocco, Yves Saint Laurent found the inspiration to create his most emblematic haute couture pieces. Perpetuating this creative heritage, the Ourika Community Gardens, located in the foothill of the Atlas Mountains, provide perfumers with an experimental garden to explore new olfactory territories and keep innovating using green science technologies to reveal nature

YSL will use Headspace, a high-tech process to capture the scent of the various plants of the garden enabling perfumers to recreate synthetically the olfactory components of their scent existing in nature and offer unique blend of ingredients while preserving the flora.

We always prioritize quality ingredients that respect both your body and the environment, we are proud to bare it all.

We commit to transparency, revealing 95% of the content of our fragrances. The remaining 5% is to protect the perfumers’ secret formulas. Because beauty, and the artists who create it, must always keep their share of mystery.
