MINERAL PIGMENTS

MINERAL PIGMENTS

A pigment is a non-soluble coloured powder that is dispersed in our formulas. The fact that it does not dissolve in either water or oil ensures the colour’s solidity and stability, which guarantees opaque and even coverage in make-up.
Solid. Stable. Vibrant. Pigments are undoubtedly the star of the show when it comes to rich colour and full coverage in make-up
YSL Beauty colour experts develop pigment particles that are as fine as possible to better spread and reveal colours and produce expressive and even shades.
Despite the wide range of foundation shades available, they are all developed from just four pigments: black, red, yellow and white. Playing on different proportions of these four colours can give rise to infinite possibilities where skin tone is concerned.
Lipsticks generally require the right mix of iron oxide, for opacity, and organic pigments, for brightness and vibrancy. This will create an even, solid coat of colour that is bright and long-wearing.
Foundation, on the other hand, tends to steer clear of iron oxide – its resistance to light will make the skin appear less transparent and reduce its radiance
