LHA (Lipo Hydroxy Acid)

LHA (Lipo Hydroxy Acid)

LHA is a derivative of salicylic acid – a well-known active in peeling and anti-imperfection treatments – making it a beta hydroxy acid (BHA). LHA is a patented active ingredient is used for its exfoliating and skin renewing properties.
AHAs and LHA have much in common: they both work as exfoliants to help slough away dead skin cells from the skin’s surface, making way for a refined and even skin tone. These two acid types have different physicochemical properties, making them complementary in skincare treatments. Whereas AHAs are water-soluble, the fatty chain grafted to LHA makes it oil-soluble and better able to break down the lipids between dead skin cells. This promotes the even shedding of skin. With its pH level close to that of the skin, LHA offers gentle peeling suitable for sensitive skin. It also easily dissolves the sebum in skin cavities and penetrates deeper into pores to unclog them and reduce skin imperfections.
LHA is the ideal peeling agent for oily, dehydrated and sensitive skin with imperfections. Through its gentle peeling effect, LHA helps to smoothe the skin and boost cell proliferation, making the skin texture more refined, the skin more radiant, and reducing skin imperfections.
