BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid)
A family of ingredients

BHAs are beta hydroxy acids, a class of oil-soluble acids. They occur naturally from fruits – berries, pineapple, and papaya – and from milk, willow, birch and some other plants. The most well-known and researched BHA is salicylic acid, naturally derived from willow bark. It is a star ingredient to support exfoliation efficacy.

Like AHAs, BHAs are skin exfoliants that slough away dead skin cells. The main difference is that these oil-soluble acids can bypass the oil that clogs pores to dissolve sebum and dead skin cells. That means they can delve deeper into the pores to unclog them.

BHAs help keep pores clear by peeling away the tired outer layer of our skin and regulating sebum production. The skin is smoother, brighter, more radiant, and rejuvenated.
